Siliguri, 29th May: After a woman in Siliguri Ward No. 34 Bhaktinagar area tested COVID-19 positive, the particular area has been declared as a containment zone and barricades have been put up in the locality.
Intending to help the residents of the said area, the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Friday, distributed ration among several people in the Bhaktinagar Nepali Basty area. Besides, the entire region was also sanitized.
Administrative board member Shankar Ghosh stated that food items are being distributed in all the containment zones of Siliguri under the initiative of SMC’s Board of administrators (BoA). He further maintained that more such initiatives will be adopted in the future.
