Rajganj, 16th May: Due to heavy rainfall for the past few days, the residents of Rajganj Tewari Para and its surrounding areas are facing a lot of difficulties as the area has been submerged under rainwater. The locals alleged that despite reporting the matter to the Gram Panchayat, District-in-Council members, and the Rajganj MLA several times, no settlement has been provided yet.
The dilapidated roads from Rajganj block Kukurjan High School to Khalpara BSF Camp are lying in a pitiful condition for the past two years. A large number of vehicles ply through this route which risks the lives of many. They further expressed outrage over the fact that during monsoons, water gets accumulated up to the knees and the pedestrians face a lot of difficulties.
In this regard, Lovely Parveen, a member of the District-in-Council stated that due to the ongoing lockdown, no initiatives could be adopted in this regard. However, she further maintained that arrangements are being made to solve the problem temporarily.
