Rajganj, 07th December: In continued action, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman conducted an inspection of various hotels and shops to ensure the quality of food.
According to reports, the BDO inspected several hotels, fast food stores, and sweet shops located in Rajganj’s Belakoba Bazaar and Battala More following a visit to the Panchayat Office on Wednesday. During the inspection, he uncovered several decayed food items in the refrigerators of the shops. Consequently, the BDO urged the hotel staff to discard the food items. In addition, the BDO also checked the quality of the mid-day meal provided at the Kebalpara High School in Belakoba.
Speaking in this regard, Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman stated that several cases of people falling ill after eating food have surfaced, prompting the inspection. Additionally, the BDO asserted that legal action would be undertaken against the shop owners as per government rules if expired food is served to the customers in the future. Further, he stated that similar campaigns would continue as long as he held the position of BDO.
