Cooch Behar, 03rd September: Sensation prevailed after a pregnant woman was physically assaulted and attacked with a sharp weapon in Dakshin Pachagarh area of Mathabhanga in Cooch Behar.
As per reports, at around 5 a.m. on Sunday Morning, two miscreants arrived at the vicinity with the intention to steal a toto (e-rickshaw). During this, a pregnant woman named Mallika Biswas went to the washroom and overheard the sound of a toto. Upon further intervention, she noticed two men attempting to steal the e-rickshaw and screamed for help. Following this, a miscreant grabbed the woman’s mouth and stabbed her throat with a knife, while, the other miscreant allegedly kicked her in the stomach, leaving her severely injured, and fled from the scene.
After the incident, the injured woman was transported to a hospital. Upon receiving the news, the cops of the Mathabhanga Police Station promptly arrived at the scene and initiated a detailed investigation into the entire occurrence.
