Siliguri, 03rd July: The Matigara Police, Special Operation Group and Detective Department raided an illegal call centre operating on a rented flat of a multi-storey building Matigara, Siliguri. 24 girls and 2 youths have been taken into custody.
According to police sources, the illegal call centre was operating for a long time. When the police launched a raid, the door of the office was locked from inside. After this, the police personnel broke in and took several people into custody. The apprehended are being interrogated. Apart from this, the police have also recovered some items from the office.
As per the report, a campaign is being run by all the police stations and Special Operation Group under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate to close the illegal call centres in Siliguri. Police officials have considered today’s raid as a big success so far.
