Police hold multipurpose healthcare workers’ protest plan before reaching Uttar Kanya

Siliguri, 29th September: The police stopped the multipurpose healthcare workers who were ready to stage demonstrations in front of Uttar Kanya today.


The state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who is on a 3-day North Bengal visit, reached Siliguri yesterday. An Administrative Review Meeting with the two districts has already commenced today in Uttar Kanya.

Amidst this, the multipurpose healthcare workers of North Bengal had planned to stage a protest in front of Uttar Kanya demanding higher wages. However, the police stopped them beforehand.


Reportedly, around 20 protestors were detained in Jalpai More when they were on their way to Uttar Kanya. They have been taken to the Siliguri police station.
