Police Commissioner inspected Ward No. 41 and its surrounding areas amid lockdown

Siliguri, 22nd April: The Police Commissioner Tripurari Arthav, along with the police officials, inspected various areas of Siliguri’s Ward No. 41 today.

This is the very same ward where the deceased COVID-19 positive woman from Kalimpong had visited before being tested positive.

Keeping in mind the safety of the residents, barricades have been put up around the area.

After inspecting Champasari More, the Police Commissioner then visited the Regulated Market, where he held a discussion with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) regarding the present situation of the city. Noticing several people crowding the fish market area, he raised awareness regarding the government guidelines of maintaining social distance (a minimum of 1 m).

The police officials stated that the entire fish market would be sanitized soon and strict surveillance will be kept in the area.
