Police administration inspects ghat in Rajganj ahead of Chhath Puja

Rajganj, 17th November: The police administration conducted an inspection of the Chhath Ghat on the riverbank of the Sahu River in Rajganj on Tuesday. The inspection was conducted ahead of the Chhat Puja celebrations on Thursday.


The visit was conducted by ACP Somnath Das of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate, Hirukanti Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of the Ambari Outpost, and other police officials. Reportedly, the inspection focused on ensuring the safety and availability of the site for the upcoming Chhath Puja celebrations.

According to Chhath Puja Committee member Chandan Biswas, the police reviewed the preparations at the Krishna Nagar Colony Chhath Ghat. The officials provided guidance on the safety protocols for the event. Biswas added that Chhath Puja has been celebrated at the location for nearly 19 years, and they are expecting thousands of devotees to gather, as in previous years.
