Siliguri, 16th December: Students’ parents have expressed dissatisfaction with the admission process at Siliguri Girls’ Primary School. The issue arose when admissions would be conducted through a lottery system instead of direct enrollment.
According to the parents, the school initially informed them that students would be admitted directly after submitting the application forms. Based on this information, the parents submitted the required forms and made all necessary preparations, including purchasing uniforms as advised by the school authorities.
However, when the parents arrived at the school on Monday for the admissions process, they were informed that the school would be conducting a lottery to determine which students would be admitted. This sudden change in the admission procedure led to frustration among the parents.
The school authorities clarified the situation, with Headmistress Mita Ghosh stating that the original plan was to admit students based on the submitted application forms. However, following instructions from higher authorities, the decision was made to conduct a lottery for admissions. She further assured the parents that the school was following the new directive.
