Malda, 18th January: A woman died in a road accident, while her husband and son were injured when they were returning from a marriage ceremony.
The incident occurred on National Highway 34 in the Yadupur area under the Kaliachak Police station. The deceased has been identified as Shakila Bibi (30). The injured individuals have been identified as Jamal Hussain (35) and Ramzan Ali (8). They all are residents of Maharajpur village of the Pukhuria Police station.
According to sources, Jamal Hussain, along with his wife and son, went to attend the wedding ceremony in the Krishtapur area of Kaliachak Police station. They were returning on a motorcycle, on Saturday afternoon when a lorry collided with the motorcycle in the Yadupur area under Kaliachak Police station, due to which, the three people, riding on the motorcycle, were injured.
The local people rushed the injured to the Malda Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors declared Shakila Bibi dead. Meanwhile, Jamal Hussain and Ramzan Ali are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
