Bagdogra 02nd May: Bagdogra Police arrested a person for possessing a huge amount of cannabis. The accused have been identified as Raju Sarkar, a resident of Nawagram in Assam.
As per the report, the individual was planning to smuggle the cannabis to Kolkata from Cooch Behar by bus. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a campaign in Bihar More and nabbed the accused. 52.600 kilos of cannabis were seized from his possession. According to the sources, the estimated value of the ceased drugs is more than lakh of rupees.
Today the accused was presented in Siliguri Subdivisional Court. Bagdogra police are investigating the case.
