Siliguri, 15th August: In a significant breakthrough, a young man identified as Shiv Shankar Yadav was arrested by police in Siliguri on Thursday afternoon for roaming the streets with a firearm and live ammunition. Yadav, a resident of the Gas Godown area under Pradhan Nagar Police Station, is originally from Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, police were alerted by confidential sources about a man carrying a firearm near Darjeeling More. Acting on the tip-off, officers from Pradhan Nagar Police Station conducted a search and apprehended Yadav near Darjeeling More.
During the arrest, officers recovered a firearm and live ammunition from Yadav. He is set to be presented in Siliguri Court tomorrow. The police are currently investigating where Yadav obtained the weapon, his motives, and whether others are involved in the case.
