Siliguri, 30th July: An individual was caught red-handed stealing oil from a tanker at NJP’s IOC. The arrested person, identified as Nanigopal Roy from the Baribasha area near the IOC, has a history of involvement in oil theft.
According to police sources, Roy was apprehended on Monday night while stealing oil from a tanker. A subsequent search of his residence led to the recovery of 170 liters of stolen oil.
On Tuesday, Roy was produced before the Jalpaiguri court. The NJP police station is currently investigating the incident.
