Siliguri, 11th December: Based on a tip-off, the NJP Police conducted Naka checking in Fulbari and detained a truck carrying 37 tonnes of illegal coal. The truck driver, identified as Jahangir has been arrested in the incident.
The approximate value of the recovered coal has been estimated to be around 17 lakh rupees.
According to police sources, the recovered coal was being transported from Assam to Bihar. The arrested individual was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
