Siliguri, 24th April: The undercover police of NJP Police Station apprehended a lorry and rescued buffaloes before they were trafficked to Bangladesh. In this regard, one person identified as Mohammad Hussain has been arrested.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off on Sunday night, the cops intercepted a 14-wheeler lorry at Fulbari which was transporting 19 buffaloes from Bihar to Bangladesh. On failing to provide valid documents for the load, the driver Mohammad Hussain was arrested.
According to police, the accused has a history of engaging in such illegal activities. He was produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
