Naxalbari, 07th October: New clothes were distributed among underprivileged people, individuals with special needs and tea garden workers in Naxalbari on Wednesday, ahead of Durga Puja, under the initiative of Sarada Vidyamandir High School.
The initiative was organised with the support of Naxalbari Vivekananda Seva Bharati as part of efforts to bring festive cheer to people ahead of Durga Puja.
Along with the distribution of new clothes, meals were provided to a total of 300 people during the event.
Ramakanta Mahanta from Vivekananda Seva Bharati and Sujit Das, Headmaster of Sarada Vidyamandir High School, were present at the programme.
The initiative aimed to extend support to sections of the community ahead of the festive season and ensure that they could also participate in the celebrations.
