Siliguri, 22nd January: The statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is being renovated in Ward No. 16 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, just ahead of the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary.
Every year on January 23, the locals pay homage to Netaji by laying wreaths at his statue. However, the statue was not maintained for a long time.
Hence, the statue is being renovated by the ward committee under the initiative of Ward Co-ordinator Sujoy Ghatak. Wreaths will be laid at the statue tomorrow.
