Siliguri, 18th August: Narayani Sena arrived in Siliguri for BJP Shahid Samman Yatra. However, allegations of forcefully detaining the Narayani Sena members at Siliguri Hindi High School and Rishi Bhawan surfaced this morning.
Following this, the BJP MLAs and MPs visited the Siliguri Police Commissionerate and held a lengthy discussion with Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma.
Speaking on the issue, BJP state vice president Dipen Pramanik said that the members of Narayani Sena had come to Siliguri to participate in the Shahid Samman Yatra. However, they were detained by police from different places. Hence, the party’s leaders approached the police commissioner in this regard.
Pramanik accused the Chief Minister of taking such a step to humiliate the Rajbangshi community. He asserted that their programme will continue in the coming days.
