Siliguri, 18th May: Bike-riding miscreants continue to be active in Siliguri, with frequent incidents of mobile and chain snatching. In the latest incident, miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman in Ward No. 35 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC), causing a sensation in the area, leaving local residents in panic.
Reportedly, the incident occurred on Friday evening when Anima Dey was standing in front of her house, conversing with some locals. Two young men arrived on a bike, one of them dismounted, snatched the gold chain from Anima Dey’s neck, and fled the scene.
After the incident, the NJP police station was immediately informed. Upon receiving the news, the police arrived at the scene and began investigating the case. Local residents mentioned that similar incidents have occurred in the past, heightening their concern.
