Siliguri, 18th May: A minor missing from Ward No. 37 of Siliguri has been successfully rescued just hours after a police complaint was filed. The minor was reported missing on May 15, and despite extensive searching, the family was unable to locate her.
Subsequently, a formal complaint was lodged at Ashighar Outpost on the morning of May 17. Acting swiftly, the Ashighar Outpost police launched an investigation and rescued the minor from Cooch Behar within a few hours.
Police sources revealed that the minor was found at a youth’s residence in the Ghoksadanga area of Cooch Behar. It appears the minor had met the youth through social media. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The minor has been sent to the Jalpaiguri CWC, while the police continue the investigation.
