Rajganj, 06th January: The e-rickshaw (Toto) drivers of Fulbari 01 and Fulbari 02 gram panchayat areas raised demands to allow totos to ply on the national highways.
On Wednesday, a meeting was organized at Fulbari Murder More on behalf of Fulbari No. 02 Toto Union in the presence of the leaders of INTTUC’s workers’ organization. The drivers maintained that driving the toto is their only means of income and urged the administration to allow them to drive the totos on the highways.
In this regard, Sukanta Kar, Block President of Dabgram Fulbari INTTUC said that thousands of totos ply in Fulbari 01 and 02 areas and the court’s order makes a great impact on the livelihood of all involved in the business. He said that the organization has already approached the tourism minister and the police administration in this regard. According to the Block President, if their demands are not met, larger demonstrations will be launched in the coming days.
The meeting was attended by Fulbari 02 Region President Rabiul Karim, Fulbari 01 Region President Tapan Sinha, Fulbari INTTUC Convener Mohammad Salim, and other toto drivers.
