Siliguri, 30th January: A married couple, residing in the Beldangi area under Matigara police station, have been accused of fraud worth lakhs of rupees. The accused couple are Vivekanand Singh and Subhoti Devi.
In this regard, the victims lodged a written complaint against the couple of cheating lakhs of rupees at the Matigara police station. Based on the complaint, the police initiated a search for the couple.
As per information, Vivekananda Singh and Subhoti Devi, residents of the Matigara Beldangi area, first won over the trust of the people living in their area. Subsequently, the couple allegedly absconded with lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing the women of the area work from the Self Help Group. Sources revealed that the couple has been absconding since January 23 and their house is locked.
