Man’s body recovered from washroom of closed house in Fulbari, sparks sensation

Fulbari, 22nd January: A man’s body was recovered from the washroom of a closed house in Fulbari, leading to a sensation in the area. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Purba Dhantala area of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat. Police had to cut the iron door of the house using a machine to gain access to the bathroom where the body was found.

The deceased has been identified as Soumen Narayan Majumdar, a resident of Gariahat, Kolkata. He was living alone in a rented room in Purba Dhantala, Fulbari, due to his job at a private hospital in Fulbari.

Reportedly, the hospital authorities started searching for him after he did not report to work for the past two days. When they went to check his rented house on Wednesday afternoon, no one responded despite repeated knocks, as the door to his room was locked from inside. Subsequently, the local panchayat, along with the Pradhan and the New Jalpaiguri police station, were informed.

Upon arrival, the police cut open the door of the house and found the man lying dead in the washroom. The body was recovered and sent to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for an autopsy.

Initial police investigations suggest that the man may have died of a heart attack. However, the exact cause will be determined after the autopsy. The police are currently investigating the entire incident.
