Fulbari, 04th January: The body of a man was found hanging from a tree in the Dangapara area of Putimari under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat on Saturday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Vikram Oriya, a tea garden laborer.
According to local sources, Vikram had lunch at home on Saturday before leaving. Around 3 p.m., his body was found hanging from a tree.
Family members are baffled by the incident and are unable to comprehend the reason behind it. Upon being informed, police from New Jalpaiguri Police Station arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy.
An investigation into the matter has been initiated by the police.
