Man killed while guarding fish pond in Cooch Behar, investigation underway

Cooch Behar, 29th September: A shocking incident unfolded in the Petla Borodanga area under Dinhata Block-I where a man identified as Abdul Khalek Mian (40), was allegedly killed while guarding a fish pond.


According to reports, on Thursday night, like every day Abdul went to guard the fish pond near his residence. However, when he did not return in the morning, the family members were in a state of distress. Subsequently, at around 7 a.m. in the morning, the family went to check at the site and spotted Abdul’s lifeless body bearing severe injuries.

Upon receiving the news, Dinhata police arrived at the spot, recovered the deceased body, and transported it for post-mortem examination. Preliminary investigations indicate that the man was murdered by hitting him on the head with a sharp weapon. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
