Siliguri, 26th August: A man has been arrested by the Medical Oupost police on charges of murdering his wife. The accused, Kishore Bhagat (35), a resident of the area under the jurisdiction of the Medical Outpost, has been arrested for killing his wife Sneha Bhagat.
As per reports, Kishore and Sneha got involved in a relationship during their school days and got married about 12 years ago. Initially, their married life was stable; however, in recent years the couple began facing frequent disputes and altercations. The issues led to significant mental stress for both.
Police sources revealed that Kishore had been staying away from home for about seven days, leading to escalated tensions between the couple. Sneha eventually persuaded him to return home. On August 24, another altercation occurred, during which Kishore allegedly shoved Sneha against a wall, causing her head to strike hard. She sustained severe injuries, and Kishore took her to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for treatment. However, the medical professionals there declared Sneha dead upon arrival.
Following Sneha’s death, her family was informed of the incident. On Sunday, the body underwent a post-mortem examination and was subsequently cremated. Later, Sneha’s family filed a written complaint at the Medical Outpost police station, accusing Kishore of murder. The police launched an investigation and arrested Kishore Bhagat based on the complaint.
On Monday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court for further legal proceedings. At present, the police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
