Siliguri, 21st November: A distressing incident surfaced from the area under the Pradhan Nagar Police Station where a man has been charged with sexually assaulting his friend’s wife. Following the incident, the Pradhan Nagar police apprehended the accused identified as Keshab Karki (58), a resident of Nepal.
According to reports, two days ago, Keshab arrived at Siliguri from Nepal, accompanied by his friend and his wife, to visit Sikkim. Upon arrival, they were staying in a hotel in the Siliguri Junction area. On Monday, Keshab’s friend went to repair his car before leaving for Sikkim when Keshab took advantage of the situation and forcibly committed the heinous act. Later, the victim narrated her ordeal to her husband.
Subsequently, a formal complaint against the accused was lodged by the woman at the Pradhan Nagar police station. Upon receiving the complaint, the police launched an investigation and arrested the accused. On Tuesday, the accused Keshab Karki was produced before the Siliguri Court. Currently, the entire matter is under further police investigation.
