Alipurduar, 17th February: Under the Trinamool’s ‘Maa’ project, the Alipurduar district administration, as well as the Alipurduar municipality, jointly made arrangements to provide a meal at a nominal cost of Rs 5 to poor people.
The project was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. She said that a meal comprising rice, pulses, a vegetable, and egg curry will be provided at just Rs 5. The project has already commenced in different parts of the state.
On the other hand, Mihir Dutta, chairman of Alipurduar Municipal Board, said that even today, more than 300 people ate meals at Rs 5.
