Locals plant saplings on NH 31, demand immediate repairing

Naxalbari, 28th January: The Bidhannagar Welfare Society activists in Naxalbari staged a protest by coming out on roads and planting saplings on the National Highway 31 on Tuesday.


It was reported that due to the deplorable condition of National Highway 31, accidents tend to occur every day.

In this context, Social activist Bapan Das stated that the road has been in a pathetic condition for a long time. The administration has been alleged of paying no heed to the problems being faced by the people and miserably failing in developing the road infrastructure. The people have demanded that the construction work of the road be started at the earliest. Social workers Bapan Das, Subroto Sinha, Raju Das, and many other members were present during the event.
