Fulbari, 10th October: Lions Club of Siliguri Terai Shakti organised a special service initiative for ailing cows at Gokul Dham near Fulbari, where members offered ’56 bhog’ as part of their efforts to support the care and welfare of the animals.
The members said the initiative brought them mental peace and fulfilment and pledged to continue such service activities in the future. They also thanked Bishnu Bansal and his family for making the initiative possible.
According to the organisers, serving cows goes beyond religious rituals, with proper nutrition, care and access to quality medical treatment being equally important. Cows injured in road accidents or suffering from illness are rescued and brought to Gokul Dham for treatment.
To improve these services, plans are underway to establish a hospital and diagnostic centre at the facility. The proposed infrastructure includes a laboratory, X-ray equipment and facilities for surgical procedures.
Alongside arranging food for the cows, the goshala also produces items such as shampoo, cream, cow-dung cakes and organic fertiliser. The organisers have appealed to people willing to support the improvement of medical facilities to contribute financially.
The initiative aims to encourage greater public participation in the care and protection of cows. The organisers have urged people to extend support according to their means towards their treatment and welfare.
