News Desk: The Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata witnessed an emotional moment during the oath-taking ceremony of the BJP government for the first time in the state. A special memorial and tribute stage was set up in memory of BJP workers killed in political violence.
BJP worker Ulen Roy from Rajganj Assembly in Jalpaiguri district was also specially remembered from the stage. He had reportedly lost his life during the ‘Uttar Kanya Abhiyan’.
BJP leaders, workers and supporters present at the event paid tribute to all the deceased party workers.
The Bharatiya Janata Party stated that several of its workers and supporters in West Bengal have been victims of political violence over the years, and this initiative was taken to honour their sacrifice and contribution.
