Alipurduar, 22nd April: Sensation prevailed after an incident of theft took place in the Madarihat Mahamaya Kali Mandir under Alipurduar district.
The matter only came to light when the priest visited the temple on Wednesday morning and found the door lock broken. Upon examination, it was discovered that the thieves had fled away with precious gold ornaments and worship materials from the temple.
The incident was reported to the Madarihat police, who reached the spot shortly after and launched an investigation into the incident.
