Jalpaiguri district police to launch new app to gather tourists’ information

Jalpaiguri, 21st July: The Jalpaiguri district police is set to launch a new app to get information about tourists booking hotels and resorts.


After JMB terrorists were caught in Kolkata, the state police have issued a warning in South Bengal as well as North Bengal. Since then, strict surveillance is being kept in all the districts including Jalpaiguri. As the Indo-Bangladesh border is situated next to Jalpaiguri city, the administration has emphasized more on security.

According to district police sources, there are many resorts and hotels in Kotwali, Malbazar, Meteli, and Mainaguri police station areas. After tourists book hotels and resorts, the information is conveyed to the local police station. As the process takes a longer time, the district police initiated to launch an application.


Police Superintendent Devarshi Dutta said that tourist information will be available directly through the app. This process has started and will be launched within a month.
