Siliguri, 30th July: The INTTUC Jatiyabadi Truck Drivers and Workers Union NJP unit extended a helping hand to the family of their deceased member.
Incidentally, on June 30, a driver named Mohammad Tinku lost his life in a road accident near Cooch Behar. After his death, Mohammad Tinku’s wife was struggling to make ends meet for her family.
A grant of Rs 45,000 was handed over to the family by the organization. In addition to this, a tree plantation programme was taken up in his memory. Sujoy Sarkar, the convener of the organization, said that the drivers’ union always stands by its members.
INTTUC Convener Sujoy Sarkar, Ankur Das, Mohammad Samirul, Babu Das, Bapi Bhattacharya, Minal Adhikari, Bimal Das, Rakhi Sarkar, and others were present at the programme.
