India-Bangladesh ‘Mitali Express’ flagged off from NJP station, passengers required to carry passport and visa

Siliguri 1st June: The third passenger train service between India and Bangladesh ‘Mitali Express’ was flagged off from NJP station on Wednesday to enhance the relations between both the countries.
The Mithali Express left for Dhaka from NJP station with 18 passengers on the first day. Representatives of both the countries flagged off the new train. Beside the railway officials, Jalpaiguri MP Jayanta Roy and Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh were also present. 
As per the report, the train will leave from NJP station every week on Wednesdays and Sundays and from Dhaka Cantonment station in Bangladesh on Mondays and Thursdays. An immigration center has already been set up at NJP station, where passengers can board the train by ascertaining passports and visas. The introduction of this train envisions the flourishment of tourism in North Bengal.
