Cooch Behar, 25th April: Heavy rain and strong storm winds rocked through parts of Cooch Behar, last night, causing damage in Mathabhanga and its surrounding areas and even uprooting trees.
As per the report, a tree fell on top of the residence of Nepal Saha in Mathabhanga Ward No. 11 crushing the roof and trapping a resident inside. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
The unexpected rainfall also caused widespread damage in several parts of Mathabhanga-1 Block and Hazrahat. Numerous electric poles fell and many trees were uprooted. Due to the falling of the electric poles, the power supply was also affected in the area.
