Siliguri, 01st August: With Durga Puja approaching, the festive atmosphere in the city is gradually starting to show. On Thursday, the Ganesh Ghosh Durga Puja Committee in Siliguri initiated preparations for the festival by performing the customary ‘Khutti Puja’.
The committee is prepping for its 41st year of Durga Puja celebrations. Ganesh Ghosh Durga Puja Committee announced that this year’s celebration will feature a distinctive pandal (pavilion) and the idol of Goddess Durga will be its center of attraction. Significantly, the committee has allocated a budget of approximately Rs 12 lakh for the festivities.
