Alipurduar, 01st February: A one-day exhibition football match was organized with the Kanyashree girls in the Kalchini Union Academy School ground, under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project, of the Kalchini block in Alipurduar district. The Kanyashree girls from the closed Madhu Tea Garden and Mathura Tea Garden participated in the exhibition football match.
The Child Development Project Officer (CPDO) of Kalchini, Sayak Das, stated that the football match was organized to stop child marriages. He further stated that such an initiative will be taken to stop child marriage in the future as well.
During the event, Kalchini OC Abhishek Bhattacharya, Chairman of the Latabari Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Asim Majumdar and many other dignitaries were present.
