Darjeeling MP Raju Bista seeks Governor’s intervention over medical mafia allegations at NBMCH

Darjeeling, 16th September: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, in a social media post, mentioned that on September 10 he had requested West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose’s intervention in the ongoing agitation by medical students at the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

Bista highlighted serious concerns raised by junior doctors, who have accused leaders linked to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of operating a ‘medical mafia’ within the institution.

In his request, Bista urged the Governor to initiate a CBI inquiry to thoroughly investigate and dismantle the alleged medical mafia. He also called for the removal of the Principal of NBMCH to ensure a free and fair investigation into the grave allegations brought forward by the medical students.

On Monday, Governor Bose instructed the West Bengal Chief Secretary to take appropriate action in response to Bista’s concerns.

Bista expressed hope that the Chief Secretary would facilitate an open and transparent inquiry, allowing the CBI to fully investigate the accusations and ensure accountability at NBMCH.
