Siliguri, 04th September: In a recent incident, a couple was arrested by Siliguri police after they allegedly stole a sound box from an electronics store on Rabindra Nagar Main Road. The couple, identified as Amresh Sarkar and Shyamoli Sarkar, entered the shop on Tuesday posing as customers.
According to reports, the couple kept the shopkeeper occupied by asking to see various items before stealing the sound box and leaving without making a purchase. The theft was discovered by the shop owner, who immediately lodged a complaint at the Siliguri police station.
Upon investigating the store’s CCTV footage, the police were able to identify the suspects. Amresh and Shyamoli Sarkar were arrested later that night in the Bhabesh More area of Siliguri. The stolen sound box was also recovered.
The arrested couple was presented in Siliguri court on Wednesday, and police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
