Siliguri, 02nd May: The results of the Siliguri Bar Association elections have been declared, with the Congress-Left alliance emerging victorious. The alliance captured all 16 seats, leaving both the BJP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) disappointed as they failed to secure any positions.
This marks a continuation of the dominance of the Left-Congress alliance in the Siliguri Bar Association Committee, although last year’s results saw a slight deviation. In the previous elections, the alliance between CPIM and TMC had secured 6 seats, with TMC winning 4 of those. However, in this election, both TMC and BJP failed to open their accounts.
The newly elected office-bearers of the Siliguri Bar Association Committee include President Uday Shankar Malakar, Vice President Sampita Sanyal, Secretary Sandeep Das, Treasurer Amitabh Bhattacharya, Assistant Secretary Anirban Bhattacharya, and Librarian Dipse Bhowmik (Disha Rudra).
The new Executive Committee members are Abhishek Roy, Amit Ghosh, Anamika Pradhan (Shrestha), Deepak Saha, Indranil Chaudhary, Natalia Ghosh, Raja Malakar, Suraj Rajak, and Tapas Sarkar.
