Children’s fight sets off massive brawl between two families in Siliguri, 8 arrested

Siliguri, 13th December: Tension erupted in the Bandri Jote area near Dagapur in Siliguri on Thursday evening following a minor dispute between two children. The disagreement escalated, involving both families and led to a confrontation between the two groups. The police from Pradhan Nagar Police Station acted swiftly to control the situation, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Jammu Khan, Mohammad Saifli, Mohammad Naushad, Nizabul Khan, Mohammad Mubarak Khan (alias Gopala), Mohammad Sirajul Khan, Arfaz Khan, and Shahid Khan.

According to reports, the incident began when two children were playing in the Bandri Jote area and got into a quarrel. However, the children’s dispute quickly escalated, with both families getting involved. The two groups clashed and began throwing stones at each other.


Upon receiving information about the conflict, the Pradhan Nagar Police quickly arrived at the scene. To maintain order, additional forces, including the RAF (Rapid Action Force), were deployed. Pradhan Nagar Police have been maintaining a close watch on the area.

Following the intervention, the situation was brought under control, and eight individuals from the two opposing groups were arrested and presented in Siliguri court on Friday for further proceedings.
