Siliguri, 05th January: A speeding car driver knocked a man in the enclosed area of Deshbandhu Para Himachal Sangha Club, Siliguri on Saturday night and drove on for about 1.5 kilometers with the victim’s blood-stained body on the roof of the vehicle. The victim eventually fell near the Gopal More area. The deceased has been identified as Kanak Sarkar.
The injured was then taken to the Siliguri District Hospital immediately where the doctors declared him dead. Upon receiving the news, the police and Ward No. 30 councilor Swapan Das reached the spot. However, the vehicle fled away from the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
