Naxalbari, 15th November: Two brothers tragically lost their lives after being attacked by an elephant while returning home from work. On Friday, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb and Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh of Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, visited the bereaved family in the Mourijote area of Naxalbari to offer condolences and assurance of support.
Reportedly, the tragic incident took place on the National Highway near Kestopur, Bagdogra, late on Wednesday night, casting a shadow of grief over the local community. The Mayor expressed his sympathies, stating that the Chief Minister had been informed and would visit.
The deceased brothers leave behind their families of three daughters and the other with a son. Mayor Deb assured the family that efforts would be made to provide all possible assistance in this difficult time.
