Rajganj, 24th February: On Saturday, the members of Rajganj Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha organized a ‘gherao’ program at several police stations to protest over the Sandeshkhali incident. Significantly, they protested at the Bhorer Alo police station, the Ambari Outpost, and the Rajganj police station.
According to reports, the BJP workers arrived at the police stations through a rally. However, during this, the protestors were halted by the police force near the police station. Later, a BJP delegation went to the police station and met with the OC.
In this regard, the members of the BJP Mahila Morcha stated that the ‘gherao’ program was held on this day in every police station across the state to protest against the Sandeshkhali incident. They added that the state police have become biased towards the ruling party and the victims of harassment were refrained from justice. The protest was held demanding justice for them. Furthermore, they have staged ‘gherao’ at the police stations demanding the immediate arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan and other associated accused.
