Siliguri, 02nd November: The BJP activists gheraoed the NJP police station opposing the murder of a party worker.
It is to be noted that the body of BJP activist Vijay Shil was found hanging in Nadia’s Gayeshpur area on Sunday. Following which, the BJP workers alleged it to be a case of murder. Opposing the incident, the party workers gheraoed various police stations across the state today. Accordingly, the Dabgram-Fulbari BJP staged a protest outside the NJP police station and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
Prasenjit Paul, convener of the organization, said that due to the lack of democracy in the state, the BJP workers are harassed to such an extent. In the last one year, around 110 BJP workers have been brutally killed in different parts of the state. Despite this, the culprits remain elusive.
He further said that as soon as the BJP comes to power in the state in the next assembly, proper homage will be paid to the souls of the deceased BJP workers.
