Jalpaiguri, 27th September: The Bharat Bandh called by Sanjukta Kisan Morcha received a mixed effect in Jalpaiguri. However, no major effect was seen in the tea gardens.
On the other hand, bandh supporters took to the streets since Monday morning. Demonstrations were staged at the gates of Jalpaiguri District and Sessions Court. Protests were also staged by blocking government buses, but most of the city’s markets were kept shut.
