Bhaktinagar police arrest 5 with stolen items worth lakhs

Siliguri, 02nd November: The Bhaktinagar police arrested five men and seized stolen goods from their possession. Out of the arrested, three people were held for burglary and the other two were arrested for buying the stolen items. The arrested accused have been identified as Sumon Sarkar, Bittu Pal, Guddu Saha, Abdul Hamid and Subir Chaki.


According to police sources, a burglary took place at a house in the Shastrinnagar area under Bhaktinagar police station area on October 24. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim family, the police launched investigations and arrested Sumon Sarkar. After interrogating him, two more men were arrested.


Following this, the three arrested individuals were produced before the court and taken into police custody. After interrogating them, the police arrested Abdul Hamid and Subir Chaki on the charge of buying stolen goods. Stolen goods worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from their possession.

All five were produced before the Jalpaiguri court today.
