Attempted burglary at the residence of cricketer Wriddhiman Saha in Shaktigarh area

Siliguri, 24th April: Amid the COVID-19 lockdown, few miscreants, on Thursday night, allegedly attempted burglary at the residence of the renowned Indian cricketer Wriddhiman Saha in Ward No. 31 Shaktigarh area. Shah is, however, currently residing in his Kolkata house along with his family members.


Saha’s uncle Moloy Saha stated that a gang of burglars broke into their residence on Thursday late night grabbing the opportunity of the ongoing lockdown. He further stated that upon hearing a loud noise from Wriddhiman’s room, he immediately rushed out but the thieves had already fled away from the scene. The sound of a Maruti van was also heard at around 2 am last night. He further added that two or three days ago, few unknown faces were loitering around their house late at night.

The matter was reported to the NJP Police, who reached the spot shortly after and have launched an investigation into the incident.
