Rajganj, 26th October: Ambari Shakti Sopan Club has begun preparations for Kali Puja with a traditional Khutti Puja ceremony in Ambari, Rajganj. In its 56th year, the club’s theme this year will be Amritsar’s Golden Temple.
The club has been organising Kali Puja on a grand scale among the various pujas held across Rajganj block. The Khutti Puja ceremony was held on Monday, formally marking the beginning of this year’s preparations.
Club member Shubhankar Dutta said the puja is entering its 56th year, with special attractions planned for both the pandal decoration and the idol of Goddess Kali. Elaborate lighting arrangements will also be a major feature.
The organisers have set a budget of approximately ₹7 lakh for the celebrations. A range of cultural programmes will be organised over five days.
The club authorities are hopeful that, as in previous years, the celebrations will draw large crowds.
